Background on Kaoru Ono, Peter Hewlett, and Richard McNamara

Kaoru Ono was born in Tokyo and is the author and illustrator of many well-loved children's books. She is an honorary professor of the Tokyo University of Art and Design.

Peter Hewlett is an EFL teacher at Hakodate La Salle Junior & Senior High Schools. Richard McNamara is currently lecturing at Kyushu Lutheran College in Kumamoto. They have also translated the popular Guri and Gura and Little Daruma children's books for Tuttle Publishing.
