Book Description From the Front Cover Flap

More than anything else in the world, Antonia wants a Mei Mei, little sister, to call her own. But when the big day finally arrives and the family flies to China to get her long-awaited sister, the little one is not at all like she imagined her. She can't walk. She can't talk. She just cries and steals attention!

Frustrated, Antonia is ready to give her little sister back. But is there more to this new Mei Mei than she first sees?

This is Caldecott winner Ed Young's own story. Told in a series of rich and colorful collages, it follows his little girl as she learns what being a big sister is all about, and discovers the real meaning of family.
