Background on the Authors

LESLIE SWARTZ is vice president for program development at The Children's Museum, Boston. She has served as director of the Harvard East Asian Outreach Project for many years. A cofounder of Boston's Dragon Boat Festival and a founding member of the Boston-Hangzhou Sister City Association, she is currently a board member of Families with Children from China New England. Ms. Swartz has traveled extensively in China and has published many multicultural books, curricula, and audiovisual materials, She lives with her daughter, Mei, in Arlington, Massachusetts.
